Purpose

The primary purpose of Colleyville Presbyterian Church is first to bring all glory to God in the worship, service and fellowship that we enjoy together as members of Christ's Church. Secondly, Colleyville Presbyterian Church exists to make God known by bringing people into a living and joyful relationship with Him through the extension of the transforming presence of His Kingdom in our community and throughout the world.

Goals

We believe that God's people will be equipped for God-honoring worship, service and fellowship, and nurtured in the faith as they are led to:

  • Experience fully their main purpose in life which is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

    “Man’s chief end is to Glorify God and enjoy him forever.” WSC #1

  • Know and love God with all their heart, soul & mind.

    “Then one…asked him saying, ‘Teacher, what is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said unto him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all you soul, and with all your mind.’ ”

  • An experimental understanding of all the benefits and blessings that belong to believers by virtue of their Redemption.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of and acquaintance with the content of the Bible.
  • A solid grasp of sound Bible doctrine as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
  • Grateful and obedient submission to the Word of God, the Bible, as the absolute and final word in regard to faith and conduct.
  • Cultivate the spiritual disciplines that lead to spiritual maturity such as reading and studying the Bible, prayer, family worship, corporate worship, fellowship, and involvement in service and ministry.
  • Build strong families bound together by a devotion to Christ and true spirit of self-denying love and devotion.
  • Assume God-ordained responsibilities, as Christian citizens, to bring the truth and righteousness of God to bear upon every aspect of life and society.
